Biba Experience

Biba If, like me, you are too young to have visited the original Biba store, help is at hand with the Biba Experience website.

The original store was founded as a small boutique by Barbara Hulanicki in 1964, but by the 70s it had expanded to a department store selling everything from feather boas to pet food, and was the coolest place to be seen. Celebrity fans included Twiggy, Bianca Jagger and Anita Pallenberg.

What it's best remembered for is the fashion. There's no vintage items on the website, but you can buy from their new 70s-inspired collection if you want a bit of Biba for yourself. Working with designers such as Bella Freud they manage to mix a freshness of ideas with the original rock 'n' roll spirit - at a price.

Marci Cole

I am desperate to find my favorite Biba eyeshadow in the color "wish". I understand it is discontinued but someone, somewhere out there must know how I can find this. Thank you.
