Artichoke lamp
The Artichoke lamp by Poul Henningsen is the modernist chandelier. Designed by Henningsen in 1958 it is composed of layers of overlapping "leaves" which produce crisp, glare free light from 360 degrees.
The lamp is still manufactured in Denmark by Louis Poulsen, and although it looks great it doesn't come cheap at around £3,350 depending on your choice of finish.
However, for those of us who don't have that kind of money to spend on a light fitting, help is at hand with the Leaf pendant light from Dwell. You get a lamp with similar stylish looks, but at only £225 it's a much more affordable option.
