Budgie – The Complete Series reviewed

Budgie_sleeve_1 It’s a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it. I’ve just spent more time in front of the TV than is healthy, watching the entire first series of Budgie, that classic 1971 series written by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, and starring Adam Faith as the ne’er do well petty villain, always on the look out for the next "get rich quick" scam – and always failing miserably trying to pull it off.

If you want to discover (or rediscover) Budgie, his girlfriend Hazel, Soho’s "Mr Big" Charlie Endell and the 70s fashions time forgot, check out our review over at our new cult film and TV site, Cinedelica.

Without giving too much away, it’s certainly not lost anything in the 35 years since it was first shown (or the 20 years since it last reappeared on Channel 4).
