Holiday in a 60s Ibizan hideaway

More
Ever see the cult sixties movie More? Directed by Barbet Schroeder, it’s a tale of one man’s descent into heroin addiction amongst the hippy communes of Ibiza.

It’s got a great early Pink Floyd soundtrack, with a sleeve depicting a windmill from one of the film’s locations (Formentera – a small island off Ibiza) – a location almost unchanged from those days and one you can visit for a lazy break.

The island itself is rapidly becoming a rich person’s playground, but remains unspoilt due to an emphasis on eco-tourism – expect to ride a bike around the island rather than hiring a car.

There is still cheap accomodation available. Check out Las Banderas, a boho beach bar/boutique B&B – brightly painted and kitted out with character, you can book in for just 60 Euros per night for a double – and it’s just a stone’s throw from the beach.

Retro chic that doesn’t break the bank.
