Modernist houses for sale

Modernisthouse Looking for something a little more interesting than an identikit semi on a faceless new-build housing estate? If you've got the money, the best place to look is The Modern House - an estate agent, as the name suggests, specialising in modernist houses. But don't expect a bargain -  high-profile architecture comes at a price.

If our Lotto numbers came up, we'd probably consider Stillness (pictured) in Bromley, Kent. It's a five bedroom house, designed by Gilbert Booth in 1934 and recently featured in BBC4's Living With Modernism series.

The price? £1,295,000.

There are also more modest properties on the site, along with some superb places in France, far more quirky and more reasonably priced than the British ones too.
