Timeless is a word we throw about quite a lot – but that’s because it’s another word for a design classic. And it’s certainly the word you’d use for the Marimekko Olkalaukku bag.
Amazingly, this bag design is 35 years old, designed by Ristomatti Ratia in 1971 and consistently one of Marimekko’s biggest sellers. It’s made of 100 per cent cotton canvas, available in a range of colours (not just the white pictured) and features a main storage area, zip pocket, two separate pockets on the inside and a shoulder strap.
Much copied elsewhere, but why buy a copy when you can pick up an original? Should set you back around £50.
