If one hotel fits the "retro" tag, that place is the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Located in the heart of the city, the hotel dates back to 1960 and owes its look and feel to one man – Arne Jacobsen. The entire hotel from the exterior facade through to the swan and egg chairs gracing the lobby and the cutlery in the restaurant have been designed by him. Apparently, the room you need to book is room 606 – the many of the rooms have renovated to include more contemporary Danish design, but 606 still features Jacobsen’s original décor.
Room rates obviously change throughout the year, but doubles start at the equivalent of £135 per night. And don’t forget your laptop – there’s free broadband.
