As well as helping to run Australia’s excellent Outre Gallery, Gemma Jones is a fine artist in her own right, recently being picked up by Habitat to feature in their Figurative Art Collection.
Gemma specialises in paintings of girls/women in a style based in art of the 60s and 70s, using anonymous subjects taken from magazines, illustrations and adverts of that period. And don’t think this is just computer art – the four images featured here (Aqua Butterick, Candy Style, Mulberry Surprise and Sweet Lucille) are all originals, done in traditional paint (but obviously available as prints at Habitat).
Prices vary, depending on the size (or if you want it on canvas), but start at just £20.
