One of the most memorable Bond Villain lairs surely has to be Stavro Blofeld’s mountainous base high in the Alps in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. And rather than being a studio-built creation, it still exists – and you can go there.
It’s called the Piz Gloria in Schilthorn in the Swiss Alps. It’s a 30-minute ride to get there, but once you’re there, you can enjoy the amazing scenery that was the backdrop to the movie. And on top of that, you can watch the Bond movie, enjoy a champagne Bond breakfast or have some other food or drink in the Bond-like revolving restaurant. Yes, that’s a revolving restaurant – the world’s first apparently.
The round trip costs around £30, food obviously is extra.
