What would you say if we offered you some retro-styled art for just 50 pence? We, you can if you nip down to Sainsburys. The supermarket has teamed up with the Arts Council to produce reusable shopping bags featuring specially commissioned work by artists Michael Craig-Martin, Anya Gallaccio and Paul Morrison.
It’s all about encouraging us to think about art (and to celebrate the Arts Council’s 60th birthday). The Sainsburys "art in your hand" is available in three designs, but our favourite is definitely Michael Craig-Martin’s "art for supershopper" (pictured), with its pop art-styled bunch of bananas.
All the designs are available from the start of November in Sainsburys stores. Be quick – these will not be around for long.
