It’s not actually wood, it’s wood-effect, available in a variety of finishes, including this olivewood. Either way, you’ll fool anyone unless they get really up close. The deck itself is pretty much state-of-the-art. It’s a manual turntable with carbon-fibre toneram, electronic speed change, end of record switch-off, gold-plated phono sockets and an endless number of adjustments to reduce noise and boost your music.

Supplied with Ortofon 510 Mk II, Sumiko Blue Point No. 2 or Ortofon Rondo Red cartridge and dust cover, you can pick one up for £950.
