Brian Wilson has probably racked up a good few honours, but I'm guessing he's never had an art installation in his honour, as is the case with If Everybody Had An Ocean - Brian Wilson, An Art Exhibition, which takes place at Tate St Ives.
The name is actually a little misleading - it's not the art of or featuring Brian Wilson (although the Peter Blake tribute pictured here does feature) and it isn't authorised by the man either. What you do get is art since the 1960s, using Wilson's life as a loose theme - and featured in a gallery that's near a beach - where the surf is often up.
The exhibition has three phases - firstly the early custom cars, surf and Southern California, then the more abstract/psychedelic phase and finally, art relating to the late 60s - and the flipside of the Californian dream.
It takes place from 26th May - 23rd September 2007

When you have a light fitting that looks as cutting edge today as it did over 35 years ago, you know it's a safe bet to stay in style for many more years. And that certainly applies to the Verner Panton FlowerPot light fitting.
