Build your own battery-powered Arco Lamp

Colette Achille Castiglioni's Arco Lamp is an iconic design - and certainly not cheap to buy. So how about building your own? You can with this Designer Emulation Kit by Mark McKenna for Emulate.

The Aroc is one of three designs available in the kit, the others are Ingo Maurer's Lucellino and Richard Sapper's Tizio. All come in kit form (not unlike an Airfix kit). Snap out the parts, put them together, then power them up with a battery. Before you know it, you have a desk-sized design classic.

You can pick up the kit online from Colette, priced at 40 Euros (around £27).

Douglas Goldberg

I recently acquired a marble base and stem for an Arco floor lamp by Flos. Does anyone know of any businesses who would sell parts in reproduction or originals to complete the lamp. I have the base portion the stem that is embedded in the marble base, but need the telescopic part of the stem, the lampshade and wiring. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
