Writer - online word processor like an 80s PC

As a kid, I was always amazed that American teenagers had these computers - and indeed modems - all set up in their bedrooms, allowing them to edit course grades (Ferris Bueller's Day Off) or start World War Three (Wargames). And they all looked like Writer.
Writer is a free online word processor program that looks and types like one of those vintage computers, with a black background and green text. Visit the site, sign up and you can write and edit documents. What's more, it has a spellchecker and a word count, so it really is a useful little thing. Documents are saved via your cookies, but if you sign up, they're saved in a more secure way.
Great fun - and useful too.
Find out more at the Writer website

you can even download it or at least something similar as a kind of writing software
