Space Invaders flashing LED door mat

Door mats as technology? Yes, that's the case with this Space Invaders flashing LED door mat.

It works on three levels - firstly, it keep the dirt off your lovely new carpets, secondly, it impresses your gadget-loving friends and thirdly, those glowing/flashing invaders might deter any unwanted visitors from crossing your threshold. But probably not.

The flashing image works on a motion sensor, so you'll not be annoyed by it all day and it is powered by 4x AAA batteries. Available from ThinkGeek, you can pick one up for $69.99 (around £35).
