Retro Club: Mrs Boon’s Tea Party in Manchester

Regular readers will know of our love of tea and cake – and now we can indulge our passion with other like-minded people at Mrs Boon’s Tea Party in Manchester.

Yes, this is a monthly tea party in the centre of Manchester, specifically at the Koffee Pot on Hilton Street, with Mrs Boon (wife of Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon) serving up her homemade cakes and lashings of tea and coffee in old school crockery. And for your soundtrack, Clint Boon himself will be spinning tunes on a 1960s record player.

The next one is on Friday 21st December, with additional guests including the legendary Frank Sidebottom and a brass band to get everyone in the mood for Christmas. We’ll certainly see you down there. Admission is £5 (which includes those refreshments), with the doors open from 4pm. Mine’s a slice of chocolate cake.
