BMW updates 1970s M1 super car - unveiling the M1 Concept

30 years ago, BMW launched the Lamborghini-designed M1 and in 2008, it is celebrating that design with the BMW M1 Concept.

It's a modern update of this 70s classic and a million miles away from the company's traditionally dull vehicles, adding a more aerodynamic shape and (sadly) losing the pop-up headlights - but otherwise staying faithful to the original.

The downside is that this is a concept - so might not make it into production. And even if it does, the price will probably put off us mere mortals. Another image over the turn.
