Recycled Street Sign Chairs

Metalsmith Boris Bally has put old signs to good use in his collection of Transit Chairs.

Each one is uniquely-made from retired traffic signs. The edges have been rounded and filed to give a smooth finish, but as they are used signs, each will still have marks from their previous use.  The industrial style reminds me of the Peter Saville design work for Factory Records.

They can be bought from the website Green With Envy and are currently reduced form $1000 to $900 (approximately £450).
