Enzo Mari designed the Sedici Animali puzzle for Danese in 1960. It comprises of 16 wooden animals that fit together as a jigsaw but can also be placed on top of one another to create sculptures.
It has been designed so that numerous games can be played with the set, but no rules are included, allowing children to explore and make their own connections.
Each year 300 hundred sets are released as a limited, numbered edition. The price reflects this exclusivity – at just under £250, it is more expensive than something from the Early Learning Centre.
Sedici Animali is available to buy from The Lollipop Shoppe.
