Bertoia 1950s Asymmetric Chaise

Asymm

Harry Bertoia created the Asymmetric Chaise back in 1952, but this mid-century gem never went into production. Until today that is.

Yes, you can now pick one up courtesy of Knoll, a sculptural chair that screams the 1960s, which goes to show how ahead of the game Bertoia was. It's a mass of bending metal rods, combining to produce an extensive frame and support for your reclining, finished off with either a seat cushion or as in the example above, full upholstery in fabric or leather.

Bend it anyway that suits, but be careful - at £5,383, you don't want to break it.
