For sale: Art deco Four Trees house in Spalding, Lincolnshire

Fourtrees2

The BBC's The One Show is currently running a series of mini features where they randomly slate 20th century architecture - basically, they find a modern property, get the locals to say it's ugly, then swing back to the studio for everyone to agree. Shame really, as there's a great number of stylish and distinctive houses all over the UK worthy of highlighting - including Four Trees, in the Spalding area of Lincolnshire.

Four Trees is a great example of art deco-style housing, a four-bedroom property designed by Norman Webster in 1934 and amazingly, still faithful to the original design due largely to it being in the same family's hands until this year.

Accommodation is four bedrooms, three reception rooms, kitchen/dining room, utility room, an entrance porch with original hardwood features, a second-floor storage area and a large garden/parking area. Judging by the photos, the interior isn't really in keeping with the outside, but at the same time, it doesn't look like a big job to return it to its 30s pomp.

It's on the market for £375,000 - check out the website for additional images.
