Airport

Not just a book, Airport (Twentieth Century in Pictures) is something of a record of the 20th century jet set.

Yes, an unusual 300-page book that uses photos from the archives of PA Photos, the photo side of the UK Press Association, to show the comings and goings of the great and the good during the 20th century. That includes Charlie Chaplin leaving Croydon in the 1930s (and again in the 50s when he left the US), The Beatles in America and bizarrely, Thunderbirds puppets on the steps of a plane, bound for Japan. Just about everyone in-between too.

It's available now from Ammonite Press, priced at £8.99.
