Whilst I might wish I had been alive during other eras, I’ve never had a particular hankering for war-time Britain, but if you are curious to know what it was like to take shelter from bombs during the Second World War, then the London Transport Museum has an event for you.
“Under London: Blitz experience tours of Aldwych Underground station” are being held from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 September and offer a rare chance to go into the disused tube station where many people sought refuge from the attacks. To add to the ambiance, the tours will be conducted by actors in 1940s clothing.
Tickets cost £8.50. Visit the London Transport Museum website for details of how to book.
