If you happen to be house hunting in mainland Europe, here's a very stylish property – a 1950s modernist three-bedroomed house by Willy Van Der Meeren in Teralfene, near Brussels in Belgium.
Van Der Meeren design it back in 1958 and while not listed in its native country, it is described as ‘valuable heritage’, which is pretty much the next best thing.
It's not in original condition, the property was upgraded in 2010 by the present owners. But if anything, the renovation has enhanced the period features, throwing in some modern comforts for good measure.
In terms of accommodation, you get those three bedrooms, plus a living room, dining room, study, kitchen, utility room and bathroom. There’s also a garage and gardens, with a wall hiding the property from passers-by.
It’s on the market for around the 400,000 Euros mark. See the site for more images.
