Ladybird Me Books App for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch
Fans of Ladybird's classic tales and illustrations now have the opportunity to bring the nostalgia of their own childhoods to a whole new generation with the Me Books App.
The app costs 69p and once downloaded gives you access to one title - The Zoo. It's a simple enough idea; tap various spots on the page to hear the text read aloud and the sound effects - in this case the various animals at the zoo. The added twist is that you can also record yourself (or your child) reading the story - and even make your own noises if the fancy takes you.
There are a further 10 titles available, costing £1.99 each. Find out more at the App Store.
Want to read about equally cool stuff for kids? Then check out our all-new, rather wonderful Junior Hipster website Or for more of the same with a contemporary twist, check out the Switched On Set site

Ahoy!
Having read this post I went out and bought the app.
It's hilarious!
The facility to replace the embedded audio leaves it open to much japery and hi-jinks.
Thanks for the post.
Oh, yes,
