1950s-patterned Ham and Lemons tray at V&A Shop
Following on from the Kaleidoscope dress, here's another attractive design based on the extensive archives held at the V&A Museum: the Ham and Lemons tray.
The tray uses a pattern called 'Fruit Delight' designed by Arthur Stewart in 1951 (in fact the same year as the Roebuck chair we featured yesterday). Originally intended for a furnishing textile for Liberty & Co., the typically mid-century pattern - featuring strawberries, forks and, yes, the ham and lemons of the title - suits the birch tray well. Perfect for serving up your own feast.
The tray costs £22.50.
