eBay watch: 1950s Dansette Major portable record player

An older one than we usually see, but this 1950s Dansette Major portable record player probably has more appeal because of that.

If you've got as '50s-inspired home, this could be ideal, especially if you just want a Dansette that works well and looks good, not some project you're never going to get round to finishing.

This Dansette has been ugly serviced and restored by a qualified Dansette service engineer, with that all-important valve amplifier inside, as well as featuring a line front loudspeaker panel, a BSR UA8 record deck, the original cream on/off volume and tone control knobs, original Cheney brand gold coloured hinges, the original white carry handle and the original model label.

Sold with a new twin tip stylus fitted to the high output BSR cartridge, and a new earthed mains lead, it's currently at £39.99.
