1940s Gubi Cobra floor light by Greta Grossman
We have featured the rather wonderful table version in the past, but there's also a Gubi Cobra floor light by Greta Grossman.
Officially, this dates to 1949, although it actually didn't make it into stores until the 1950s. In fact, if you were to name a decade for this design, the '50s would perhaps be the most likely, possibly even later. It was certainly a design ahead of its time.
Reissued once more in a variety of colours, this award-winning design features a tubular flexible arm, which can be bent in all directions, a shade that can rotate 360 degrees, a powder-coated aluminium frame and a cast iron ballast. £455 is the price.
