Earlier in the week, we highlighted a Yorkshire art deco house in need of work for pushing the £1 million mark. Now we have this Blenkinsopp and Scratchard-designed 1930s art deco house in Castleford, Yorkshire, which has been full renovated and available for a fraction of the price. The difference? It's all about the location.

One is located in a sought-after area of equally desirable Harrogate, the other is in a fairly built-up area of Castleford. That doesn't stop us admiring the house though, which was built in 1934 for a doctor and is still packed with period features, like terrazzo flooring, Japanese oak parquet flooring and a sunken black bath with mosaic tiling.

For your money, you get a ground floor with living/dining room, kitchen and a study, with an upper floor including a master bedroom with an attached dressing room and three further double bedrooms, along with a higher level with sun roof and substantial terrace. There is also off-road parking and some gardens.

If you want it, £249,000 is the asking price. See the site for many more shots of the place.
