Instagram Socialmatic camera - capture and print Instagram photos

This was seen as a concept a short while back, but now it looks like the Instagram Socialmatic camera is about to go into production.

That's right, the ideas man (ADR Studio) has found a manufacturer, which means you'll soon be able to buy a standalone device to capture and print Instagram snaps. The Polaroid for the modern era if you like.

The device will come with 16GB of storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 4:3 touchscreen and two main lenses - the first for main capture, second for 3D filters, webcam applications and QR Code capturing. There's also an optical zoom, a flash and of course, the internal printer and room for the paper and ink cartridges. Instagram software will also be installed.

The first working models will be out by the end of the year, with sales starting in 2013. No news of price obviously, but this could be the coolest  retro gadget around next year.
