Philips is obviously feeling a touch nostalgic, as the Philips Original Radio range gives a nod to the 1950s, while still being a very modern piece of kit.

There are five different versions of the Philips Original Radio available, with the ORD7300, ORD7100C and ORD 7100R also featuring an integrated iPhone and iPod dock (as above) and the OR7200 and ORD7300 coming with DAB+ digital radio. The Philips Original Radio OR7000 has just FM, LW and MW stations.

Options for the finish too, with a choice of cream, dark wood and red for the wood casing, finished off with aluminium dials for volume and playback control. Audio is via 10-watt-powered speakers and a digital display shows the date, time and name of track being played.

No price or stockist details as yet, but we would expect this to be on the shelves at John Lewis at some point – and possibly before Christmas.
