The 1953 collection is an expansion to Welbeck tiles ever-popular vintage collection.
As you might have guessed from the date involved, the Queen features heavily in the imagery used on the tiles, with famous photographs reproduced on the tiles. While you might not want to look at her and a young Duke of Edinburgh each day (there's a tile available if you do), I like the simplicity of the 'Made in England' tile pictured, which is taken from the range. With a crackled finish to give it that vintage look, it would look great as a one-off piece.
Available in two different sizes, the design pictured costs £7 for a £6.75cm tile.
