Beat Memories at the Grey Art Gallery, New York
Should you be lucky enough to find yourself in New York City in the next few months, then you should make time to see the Beat Memories exhibition at Grey Art Gallery.
The exhibition presents an in-depth look at the lives the Beat Generation as seen through Allen Ginsberg's photography. There are photographs are the usual Beat suspects; William Burroughs, Neal Cassady, Gregory Corso and Jack Kerouac, but what makes these photographs particularly fascinating is that many of them have been hand-annotated by Ginsberg that gives further insight into the images. For those of us unable to visit in person, there is a book of the exhibition available through the gallery and no doubt all good bookshops too.
The exhibition runs until 6 April. For more information visit the Grey Art Gallery website.
