eBay watch: 1960s Robin Day for Hille space age storage coffee table
Long title, but the 1960s Robin Day for Hille space age storage coffee table is exactly what this is.
It's specifically a 1965 deign part of a futuristic range the iconic designer did for Hllle, which also featured this rather fetching 4-400 armchair, which also pops up on eBay in various colours occasionally.
But let's focus on the table, which is a classic bit of space age design, with a removable circular centre, which is a great place to store essential bits and pieces (or a pile of snacks for TV viewing).
As for condition, it has 'no cracks' but there is a ring, where there is an indentation, and a scuff as shown (see images on listing). There is also some fading, as you would expect of plastic from this era.
Still well priced at £65 though.
