Polaroid confirms it will produce Instagram Socialmatic camera

We loved this design when we first saw it, but presumed it would stay a concept. Oh no - Polaroid has confirmed it will be producing the Instagram Socialmatic camera.

It was designed by ADR Studio and was described as the Polaroid of the modern era. So it's a perfect match between designer and maker. The original specification (of it stays) means a camera with 16GB of storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 4:3 touchscreen and two main lenses - the first for main capture, second for 3D filters, webcam applications and QR Code capturing.

There's also an optical zoom, a flash and the internal printer and room for the paper and ink cartridges. Instagram software will also be installed - or at least, Instagram-style software.

Polaroid will produce cameras like the ones pictured above, along with camera bags and other camera accessories. Look out for it this time nest year.
