Do you know what's better than a vintage sale in London? One well outside of it – as the prices are a fraction of what you would pay in the capital. That point is well proven by the vintage women's clothing auction at Addisons Auctioneers, where estimates indicate bargains aplenty.

There are 571 lots, predominately of period clothing for women, but also featuring plenty of shoes, accessories and some design pieces that fit in well too (including a 1930s display unit).

With so many lots, it's impossible to to know where to start. But we've picked out a few items just to demonstrate the clothing and the prices on offer here.

Above is a 1940s skirt suit with belt, which is estimated at £10-£20, while below you'll find a lot of 1960s shoes, estimated at £30-£40 and two shelves of 1950s and other hats, which are estimated at £30-£50.

See all the lots online and if you are keen, the auction is this Saturday, 13th April 2013, taking place at The Auction Rooms, Staindrop Road, Barnard Castle, County Durham, DL12 8TD. You can bid online, but you'll obviously have to collect your 'winnings' yourself.
