The week at WowHaus - the pick of retro houses on the market

Wow1

Plenty of retro property finds this week at WowHaus. Read on for the pick of them.

1930s Eugen Carl Kaufmann-designed modernist property in Angmering-on-Sea, West Sussex

Pictured above is a rare surviving example from a group of modernist properties designed by the German architect in the 1930s. It's also just 400 yards from the beach, which isn't a bad little bonus either.

1960s Nimbus three-bedroom modernist property in Melrose, Scottish Borders

A lovely 1960s build, sat above the town and with a retro makeover inside. A fine place - and one with price on its side too.

1960s architect-designed Crosstrees modernist property in Hythe, Kent

Designed by an unknown architect for his own family, this house on a hill has a great original look and feel and a superb balcony to take advantage of the views. Needs updating - but not by much, with the look of things.

1960s Ulrich Franzen-designed The Dana House modernist property in New Canaan, Connecticut, USA

A stunning build from 1963, this house has a stacker exterior, but the inside is something else. It's big, it's open and above it, it screams originality.

First floor apartment in the grade I-listed Berthold Lubetkin-designed Highpoint building in North Hill, London N6

A modernist icon, apartments in this building are always sought after, so this one shouldn't be around long. The apartment has been updated and you get that stunning foyer and plenty of resident's features, including access to the swimming pool and tennis courts.

1930s four-bedroom art deco property in Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno, Conwy, North Wales

A renovated art deco gem, with an exterior that's embodies the 1930s. The interior has been stylised, which may not be to everyone's taste - but as it's only decor, you can always tweak it yourself.

The Beach House 1960s midcentury modern property in Hayling Island, Hampshire

Another renovated property, this one has been updated to work with the key features of the original 1960s build. A stunning staircase, wood floors and ceilings, plus huge windows and exposed brick are the the highlights here.
