Here's a must-read for those enraptured by the opulent fashions of the 1920s – Jazz Age Fashion: Dressed to Kill by Virginia Bates and Daisy Bates

The author owns the renowned West London vintage shop 'Virginia' which specialises in the fashions of this period. This is actually a slightly edited version of her book 'Dressed to Kill' which came out last year. While that edition retails for £60 plus, you can pick this new version up for less than £20. It still has almost 288 pages and is crammed with all the sequined dresses, evening coats and fancy cocktail wear a girl can dream of.

And, since it's a lot cheaper than the original version, that leaves plenty of change for cocktails.

You can pick up a copy for £19.20 from Amazon
