The people behind the popular Midcentury Modern Show launch in a new London location this coming Sunday 13 October with Midcentury Show East in the fascinating venue of Erno Goldfinger's Haggerston School. And why the picture of the mugs? They've commissioned a new design from People Will Always Need Plates to mark the occasion.
The Grade II listed school – the only school designed by the architect behind the Trellick Tower – was built between 1964 and 65, and can be found a short distance from Hoxton Overground station in east London. The show will have over 60 dealers set up at the school for the day, selling an enviable selection of top quality midcentury furniture and artwork.
The People Will Always Need Plates mug, meanwhile, features their depiction of the school and has been produced in a limited run of 300. You can preorder one on the website now, or pick one up from the fair itself while stocks last.
The show runs from 10am until 4pm, and entrance is £8. Find out more details on their website.
