Topshop takes inspiration from the 1980s and specifically Shane Meadow's portrayal of it with their This is England collection.
The collection could pretty much by taken straight from Lol's wardrobe in This is England, consisting of bomber jackets, boyfriend cut coats, polo shirts, jeans and brogue boots. For the less tomboyish there are also some pencil skirts, but not the prissy 1950s style – these are denim, leather or checked and made to be worn in a tougher way.
The range is completed with bowling bags and a few carefully selected pieces of make-up.
