These retro Polish mugs from Theo Theo certainly make a change from all the Scandinavian style that's so popular at the moment – they're inspired by eastern European design from the 1960s, 70s and 80s. 


You're not wrong if you're thinking they look familiar as they've produced similar sets before. However, these are ten new designs, based on the same principal – simple stackable porcelain cups, each with each decorated with a made-up Communist era logo. Contemporary Polish designers and architects were asked to think retro in their designs, so the logos look as if they have been drawn from the sixties through to the eighties. 

London mug 

Some use very simple logos, such as planes, cars or clowns, or the football inspired design below, while some go typographic, as in the shiny London design shown above.
