Two British icons come together to greets effect in this 75 Years Of The Beano limited edition silkscreen print by Sir Peter Blake.

The artist, who has acknowledged the impact of the classic comic on his work, has created a silkscreen edition based on a collage of cut-out Beano characters, superimposing the colourful (and most famous) Beano characters in front of a monochrome vintage postcard-style image of the Dundee High School.

That was the school that inspired the original Bash Street Kids comic strip. Beano editor and Bash Street Kids originator George Moonie used to watch the chaos as the children poured out of the school from his office window in 1954 every day – and a legend was born not long after.

The print is limited to just 175 worldwide, with an image size of 742mm x 550mm (paper size 898mm x 716mm). If you want one, the price is £1750. A detail of the print is below but you can zoom into all of the print at the seller's website.
