Not just protection the Wanle Gameboy-inspired case for iPhone actually lets you play those old school games on the go too.

Yes, this is all about nostalgia. Well, nostalgia and fun if you like. Someone has come up with a case for Apple’s iPhone that doesn’t just keep your modern-era smartphone protected, it also uses an LCD screen of old to offer up some of the games you might remember as a kid. Or at the veery least an insight into gaming of an era gone by.

The case itself is described as lightweight and a ‘perfect fit’ for your iPhone, offering full port access as well as a vintage-style cover. In case you are wondering, it is compatible with iPhone 6, 6s, 6plus, 7, 7plus, 8, 8plus, and X.

As for the games, there are 10 to play, including Tetris, Tank, Formula One Racing and Snake & Block. If I’m honest, they could have stopped at Tetris and I would have been happy.

It’s a limited edition, only available online and selling for $24.95 directly from the maker. Yes, you might get bored and want to go back to the full colour screen after while. But when you do get an urge to go back to the past, you’ll know it’s there, ready and waiting, helping to kill five minutes waiting for a bus or train.
