We were out and about yesterday doing research / shopping (take your pick) when we spotted these Kingswood Radio and Alarm Radio sewing baskets at Cath Kidston, which look just as cool in reality as they do on the page.
We actually missed the original Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing back in 2012, which was a guide to creating your very own mid-20th century clothing and the techniques required. Like the blog that inspired it, the book was a hit – so much so that a second volume is on the way. That is Gertie Sews Vintage Casual: A Modern Guide to Sportswear Styles of the 1940s and 1950s by Gretchen Hirsch.
The current boom in crafting and sewing certainly isn't passing John Lewis by, with a host of accessories available from the retailer. That happens to include these Vintage Rose crafting boxes and bags.
