Jacques Rivette film season

Rivette
Credited by François Truffaut as the originator of the French new wave, Jacques Rivette has remained far less known than his contemporaries. This two-month season, centred around extended runs of Paris Nous Appartient (1960) and Céline And Julie Go Boating (1974), should go a long way in making up for this.

Some films are only for the bravest – Out One: Noli Me Tangere from 1971 lasts for a massive 773 minutes – but shorter movies should provide a far better option for an interesting and entertaining night at the movies than the latest Hollywood epic at the local cineplex.

The Jacques Rivette film season runs from April 13th through to May 31st.
