Max Bill 1962 watch

Maxbill Yes, another watch – but light years away from any we’ve featured previously. This is a Max Bill watch, created by Bauhaus-inspired (the design school not the band) designer Max Bill for Junghans in 1962.

This is a re-issue of one of his famous 1960s designs, incorporating "the structural clarity and precise proportions for which his work is known". It features a stainless-steel case, Plexiglas crystal, sweep second hand, 21-jewel Swiss mechanical movement, and a calfskin band. This re-issue is made by the original manufacturer, Junghans.

Want one? Well, you can pick it up from the Museum of Modern Art store for $540. But wait – if you’re a member, that price is just $486. No idea how much membership is though.
