Meet Factory designer Peter Saville

Remember we told you some weeks back about Factory Records:The Complete Graphic Album, by Matthew Robertson? It’s the definitive guide to the label – effectively a chronological catalogue of the label. Every item with one of the famous Factory inventory numbers is illustrated or listed, including album sleeves, singles, special editions, flyers, posters, stationery and architectural projects.

The book gets its official launch in Manchester this Thursday (13th July) at Urbis, coupled with a discussion event about the legacy of one of Britain’s most important (and stylish) labels. The panel includes Peter Saville – the man behind the design of the label’s output – so it might be a good idea to nip down if you want to get a signed copy of the book (or contact the gallery), definitely a future collectable.

It all kicks off at 7pm.
