Modernist Space House

Do you fancy living in a restored 1960s glass and steel house? Well your luck is in as the Space House in West Sussex is up for sale, and you better be quick as houses like this don’t come up that often.

Built in 1964 as a prototype for a mass housing project by architects Peter Foggo and David Thomas, it is one of only three that were actually constructed.

It is single story and built with a H-shaped floor plan that can be clearly seen from the outside. Refurbished to a high standard, the original steel work has been painted white to give it a fresher look. Inside some of the internal finishes have also been changed to create a lighter feel. The highlight of the house is the 50ft living/dinning room, which runs along one side of the house.

The asking price for living in a modern gem is £750,000. If you are interested you can have a look round at the up coming open day on the 27th of August.

If you prefer a private viewing you can arrange this with the agents The Modern House, Call them on 01420 520805.

  1. There are actually 4 Foggo houses of this design built, this one in west sussex and three in Holyport Berkshire. An earlier design on the same theme can be found near chichester.
