The weather’s looking good for later this week – so what better way of spending time could there be than a picnic in the park and some cool cult movies on a 50ft screen? You can do that at the Serpentine Gallery, which is showing Performance and Blue Velvet on a large screen.
Performance is showing on Friday 4th August. Arguably, one of the finest "London" movies ever made, it stars James Fox as a gangster holed up in the decadent world of a 60s pop star (played by Mick Jagger). There’s also a supporting programme.
On Saturday 5th August, you can enjoy a big screen version of David Lynch’s Blue Velvet – one of the director’s better movies, but still a mystery with the trademark weirdness in smalltown America. Again, there’s a supporting programme also showing.
Tickets are £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
