Originally designed in 1940 for the Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition, the Organic Highback Chair by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen was hugely influential on chair design throughout the following 50+ years.
Back in 1940, the chair never actually entered production because of the war, but in 2008, you can pick up a re-edition, courtesy of Vitra. The chair has an elongated backrest with a molded neck support, a laminated seat shell, polyurethane upholstery, beech legs and stained back.
Upholstery is available in a variety of fabrics and colours, just as long as you have the £1,038 asking price.
